Checkpoint Engineer
Position: Checkpoint Engineer
Work Location: Cheyenne, WY

Required Skills:
Demonstrated experience with Medium scale environments utilizing Checkpoint 7.7 on Appliance UTM 1570 (U20)
Advanced knowledge of Firewall experience is required, as well as, CoS/QoS with voice and video
Security Administration 2013 or CCSA certification
Windows Server, UNIX and networking skills and TCP/IP experience;
CCNE, CCNP and/or FNCE is also a plus;
Expert Security/Firewall management background working for large enterprises;
In-depth knowledge and proven expert proficiency in designing, engineering, configuring, and maintaining of large enterprise firewalls such as Fortinet UTMs
Support of firewall technologies includes Fortinet firewalls. Administration, troubleshooting and engineering background is required. Knowledge of other firewall technologies (Checkpoint/PIX/Net screen a Plus)
Must have experience analyzing and implementing complex firewall rules on Checkpoint firewalls and/or Fortinet security devices
Demonstrated ability to analyze network traffic flows to reverse-engineer the required firewall ports and rules to allow secure access of applications
Strong technical ability to troubleshoot firewall problems in a large enterprise involving complex network application flows between multiple hosts spanning multiple firewalls/security zones and different geographic locations
Proven hands-on experience with firewalls and a comprehensive knowledge of IP networking and network security including Intrusion Detection, DMZ, encryption, IPSec, PKI, VPNs, MPLS/VPN, Site to Site VPN tunnels, SSL/VPN, proxy services, and DNS
Experience with Cisco routers and switches, and a good understanding of IP sub netting and routing such as OSPF and BGP;
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of how to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues that involve firewalls, networks and applications;
Skill in assembling, analyzing and evaluating data to make appropriate, well-reasoned, and evidence-based recommendations and decisions supporting recommended approach;
Skill in collaborating and communicating with internal and external resources to ensure all project and support requirements are shared and understood;
Skill and experience managing change processes to minimize impacts and risks to production environments;Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
